Honest Bean Co. Healthy snacks that don’t cost the Earth – literally.

Honest Bean Co. produces roasted fava bean snacks, grown locally in the UK as a more sustainable alternative to imported chickpeas. Founded by Adam and Zoe, the brand is rooted in reducing food miles while delivering bold, flavour-packed snacks. We partnered with Honest Bean Co. to evolve their existing brand and packaging, bringing more personality and impact to their growing range.

With increasing awareness around sustainability, there is growing scrutiny on the environmental impact of imported ingredients – including chickpeas, which often travel long distances before reaching shelves. At the same time, the snack category is highly competitive, requiring strong shelf presence and clear differentiation.

There was an opportunity to position fava beans as a proudly local, sustainable alternative – while creating a brand that feels fun, vibrant, and full of character. The challenge was to balance environmental credibility with a playful tone that would stand out across retail and appeal to a broad audience.

We refreshed the brand with a lively, expressive identity that reflects Honest Bean Co.’s spirited personality. Central to this is a set of wobbly, imperfect illustrations – deliberately loose and full of character – bringing energy and individuality to the packaging.

A bold use of colour creates strong contrast across the range, helping each flavour stand out while maintaining a cohesive system. This approach highlights the diversity of the product line and enhances shelf visibility.

Working closely with the team, we rolled the updated identity across six flavours – including new additions – and multiple pack sizes (15g, 40g, and 120g). The refreshed brand successfully launched into major retailers including Co-op, Holland & Barrett, and Ocado, giving Honest Bean Co. a distinctive and engaging presence in a crowded category.

We were tasked with updating the existing brand and packaging, working closely with Honest Bean Co. to bring the brand to life with a playful approach. We created wobbly, imperfect illustrations across a range of colourful, contrasting packs – reflecting the brands spirited personality and diverse flavours on offer.

With 6 flavours, including two new flavours in 15g, 40g and 120g pack sizes, we helped to launch Honest Bean’s core range in major retailers such as Co-op, Holland & Barrett and Ocado.
